Dr. Peggy Bloomer, Assist. Professor of Art and Design, Central Connecticut State University specializes in graphic/information design, typography, and data visualization. Her research includes urban renewal, academic censorship, AI integration in design, and information theory.

Panelists:

Kyle Pedersen, MAR – Director, CMHC Foundation/Kyle has nearly 20 years of experience in community psychiatry and program administration. He has been instrumental in launching initiatives such as the Hill Farmers’ Market, The Parachute Factory arts program, and the Financial Health Project, emphasizing creative and asset-based approaches to individual and community health. He is also an ordained Episcopal deacon and faculty member at Yale Divinity School.

Jonathón Savage, Executive Director, Gather New Haven, has led efforts to increase access to local agriculture and urban farming, connecting the community with fresh produce and environmental initiatives. His leadership continues to promote sustainability and community engagement.

Sean Duffy, President, Edgerton Park Conservancy. plays a key role in preserving and enhancing Edgerton Park, ensuring its legacy as a vital green space for recreation, education, and community engagement.

Cordalie Benoit, President, Garden Club of New Haven, leads the Garden Club in its mission to promote urban greening, tree planting, and horticultural education throughout New Haven.

Lizbeth O’Connor, Horticulturist, with experience in garden renovation, design, and maintenance, Lizbeth has worked to maintain gardens and landscapes that promote environmental sustainability.

Aaron Goode, Friends of the West River Peace Garden, leads a grassroots initiative dedicated to the restoration and sustainability of the West River Peace Garden, a community-driven green space.

Colleen Murphy-Dunning, Director, Urban Resources Initiative, empowers New Haven communities through urban forestry, engaging residents in restoring and stewarding nature while transforming environmental challenges into opportunities for social and ecological renewal.
